RSES Membership Classifications
Once you join RSES  your membership will be classified as either Student Member, Associate Member or Active Member. Additional membership classifications are earned upon passing examinations as described below.

Student Member - Student Members are individuals enrolled in HVACR technology programs within regionally accredited vocational training institutions, and pay a reduced membership fee (one half the International Direct Pay amount). They enjoy all privileges in and receive literature of the Society, but Student Members are not eligible to appear for either Certificate or Specialist examinations. They may retain Student classification for a maximum of four years. Unless the local Chapter provides notification to do so prior, Headquarters will change a Student’s classification to Active at the end of their first four years.

Associate Member - Associate Members are individuals identified with, but not actively engaged in, the HVACR industry. Typical Associate members are wholesalers, distributors, salespeople, etc.

Active Member - Active Members are individuals actively engaged in the HVACR industry, such as service technicians, maintenance personnel, contractors, etc.
