ASHRAE and IAQA Approve Consolidation

Both ASHRAE and the Indoor Air Quality Association finalized a consolidation that was approved by the board of directors for both organizations at ASHRAE’s Winter Conference in Chicago this January.

In July 2014, ASHRAE announced it had agreed in principle to join forces with the IAQA, combining resources to improve indoor air quality in the built environment. Since August of last year, the two groups have been undergoing a period of due diligence, which completed in January.

Under the consolidation, IAQA will become a part of the ASHRAE organization while maintaining its own brand and board of directors. IAQA will operate independently within ASHRAE’s organizational structure.
