The RSES Member Webinar series continues with an exploration of defrost approaches in medium- and low-temperature applications - brought to you by KeepRite Refrigeration.
Regularly removing frost from the evaporator of a commercial refrigeration system is essential to its design. Depending on the system and its application there are several ways of removing this frost. A popular method used on medium temperature system is off-cycle defrost. On low-temperature systems many designs used electric heat for defrost. This webinar will cover the basic operation of both methods. The following topics will be covered:
• Using a low pressure switch for off-cycle defrosting
• Using a temperature control for off-cycle defrosting
• Basic electric defrost system design used in low-temp systems
• The operation of a defrost timer and associated controls
• Troubleshooting defrost issues
Your presenter, Joe Marchese, CMS, has designed this session to give technicians the “tools” they need to understand typical defrost system designs, their importance to overall system performance, and how to troubleshoot problems that may arise.
RSES added monthly webinars free of charge for members in early 2013.
