Jordan Brandes

Jordan Brandes joined RSES/RSES Journal in May 2013 as an Associate Editor. In addition to writing and general production of the Journal, his responsibilities include compiling industry news for In the Field, Society news in RSES News, products and other departments of the magazine and website (Cooling Down, Industry Calendar, Chapter Programs) along with handling the social media aspects of the publication. He also works with the Manufacturers’ Service Advisory Council to manage questions and answers highlighted monthly for MSAC Hotline. He helps to support the Society’s mission of providing knowledge and career development opportunities to HVACR professionals by keeping Members’ contact information current. Contributions also include updating the Society and Journal’s website and managing e-newsletters such as Elements, with technical stories, case studies, white papers and Nuts ‘n Bolts question and answer, and Essentials, with product information. He is a regular at industry trade shows and Society meetings as well.

Brandes began his career in B2B publishing at the association management company SmithBucklin handling newsletters for a variety of clients. After that he went on to manage the trade publication Contract Manufacturing & Packaging at BNP Media.

He has been writing consistently for a number of publications both freelance and full-time since he graduated from Columbia College Chicago in 2007.

In addition, RSES offers industry certification preparation materials for refrigerant handling (EPA Section 608), R-410A and North American Technician Excellence (NATE) examinations.

RSES’ monthly magazine, RSES Journal, serves HVAC contractors, service technicians, students, operations/maintenance managers, engineers and technicians who work in the residential, light commercial, commercial and institutional markets on air conditioning, warm-air heating, refrigeration, ventilation, electrical, ice machines, chillers, hydronic heating, piping, refrigeration control and energy management, building automation, indoor air quality and duct cleaning, and sheet metal fabrication equipment and/or systems.
