Jordan Brandes

Jordan Brandes joined RSES/RSES Journal in May 2013 as an Associate Editor. In addition to writing and general production of the Journal, his responsibilities include compiling industry news for In the Field, Society news in RSES News, products and other departments of the magazine and website (Cooling Down, Industry Calendar, Chapter Programs) along with handling the social media aspects of the publication. He also works with the Manufacturers’ Service Advisory Council to manage questions and answers highlighted monthly for MSAC Hotline.

Quarterly Columnists

RSES Journal features an array of guest columnists, several of whom offer columns on a rotating quarterly basis, such as Internet Insight, Investment Insight, Marketing Matters and Money Matters, each of which serves up unique perspectives on various facets of owning, managing and/or working for HVACR businesses.

Erika Hobbs

Jim Johnson

Author of RSES Journal's popular monthly Troubleshooting column, Jim Johnson is the DIrector of Training for Technical Training Associates, which boasts, "Skill Development through Specialized Training" since 1985. Johnson offers a host of products—many of which can be found at RSES' Online Store—including: supplemental training materials for HVACR curriculum; customer service and sales skills programs; and items for service managers, product manufactuers and publishers.

Lori Kasallis

Lori has been with RSES/RSES Journal since April 2007. As the Publisher/Editor, she is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the monthly magazine, which includes working with RSES Members, sister associations and manufacturers to procure features, then working with the Technical Review Committee to ensure their technical accuracy; managing deadlines and the overall production of the publications; attending/reporting on industry trade shows and RSES Chapter/Association events; and more.

Jonathan Melchi

RSES Journal's Capitol Climate author, Jonathan Melchi is the Director of Government Affairs of HARDI, where he works to augment and grow HARDI's government affairs activities to represent, promote and advance the interests and concerns of HARDI's more than 400 HVACR wholesale distributor member companies. Melchi joined HARDI during a time of unprecedented uncertainty regarding energy-efficiency, environmental, tax, labor and small business policy. Melchi also manages the industry website, www.savehvacjobs.com, and leads much of HARDI's policy coordination with industry partner organizations.

Joe Mullen

Joe Mullen is Managing Editor of RSES Journal. He has been a writer, editor, reporter and communications pro for 30 years. A good chunk of that time was spent in the Oil & Gas Industry, with stints in IT/Cybersecurity, community journalism and as a small business owner.

Lori Schiavo

Lori has been with RSES/RSES Journal since April 2007. As the Publisher/Editor, she is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the monthly magazine, which includes working with RSES Members, sister associations and manufacturers to procure features, then working with the Technical Review Committee to ensure their technical accuracy; managing deadlines and the overall production of the publication; attending/reporting on industry trade shows and RSES Chapter/Association events; and working with the rest of the RSES Headquarters Staff to help grow/retain RSES Members and RSES Journal subscribers. She also is the Secretary for the Manufacturers' Service Advisory Council and manages the questions/answers featured monthly in MSAC Hotline. Kasallis works with the MSAC Chairman to maintain communication among the Council Members, while attempting to recruit new Members, ensuring every area of the HVACR industry can be covered.
