The RSES Member Webinar series continues with an exploration of compressor characteristics and how you can use that knowledge to troubleshoot their operation.
The webinar will begin with a look at the mechanical and single phase electrical characteristics of a compressor. The focus will be primarily on reciprocating and scroll compressors. Then we'll move on to three phase compressor electrical characteristics which will include the Delta and Wye configurations.
Part start winding ad across-the-line starters will be reviewed. Three phase voltage and current characteristics will be considered in terms of voltage and current drop as well as phase imbalance.
Your presenter, Art Miller, CMS is recently retired from the Community College of Allegheny in Pittsburgh PA teaching heating and air conditioning for over 35 years. He is active with RSES and ACCA as a trainer and reviewer of Society Publications, as well as a current member of the RSES Educational & Examining Board.
