NTI Boilers, Inc. and the Consumer Products Safety Commission have jointly issued a recall of NTI's TRX Series II wall-hung gas-fired boiler that is grey in color.
The following products are affected: TRX150 Series II / UPC 628233739070 / Serial No. 3314306C8 (242830000177 through 250130000073)
TRX199 Series II / UPC 628233739087 / Serial No. 3314307C8 (242740000006 through 250220000014)
TRX199C Series II 628233739094 / Serial No. 3314308C8 (242750000127 through 250410000051)
Reason for the Recall The studs threaded into the aluminum housing on the front of the heat exchanger (used to secure the burner door) can become loose and increase the risk of a carbon monoxide leak, posing a risk of serious injury or death.
As of April 24, 2025, the company has received one reported incident in Canada, and no reports of injuries. In the United States, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries.
Consumers are advised to immediately stop using the recalled product and contact their licensed installer to schedule a repair. If a consumer does not have a record of the installer they are being advised to contact a local plumbing and heating contractor to obtain a free repair kit (NTI Part No. 4270278).
